EXTERIOR, BUILD IN PROGRESS
This challenging site, set high above the clifftops of Dover Heights boasts a grand and imposing luxury duplex residence, due for completion in 2022. The complex footprint with abundant curves, recesses and expressed beams required a high level of skill and innovation to execute. The huge scale off-form concrete posed many challenges. Michiel Gerber was instrumental in finding solutions to not only achieve the required specifications, but surpass expectations in delivering what Tom Cull of TC Build calls, “the best concrete he’s ever seen”.
While managing a large team of some of the best contractors and artisans in Sydney, Michiel fostered a level of pride and accountability in his workers, encouraging them to strive to achieve an award-worthy build. As an experienced architect, Michiel was also able to work with the lead architect at X.PACE to continually find solutions to challenges posed as the job unfolded, keeping the project running successfully.
